1. Minutes for 1-8-19 were read and approved.
a. Old Business
i. Oxalic Acid Vaporizers
1. Buddy explained the process to use the vaporizers and said he would be willing
to go to your house to ensure nobody gets hurt. We are also putting a video of
how to safely use the vaporizers on our website and the FB page.

b. New Business
i. Pot Luck Idea, Move Meeting Time to 6:00 pm – was not approved by the club.
ii. Donation to the Church—a discussion about how hard it was to find us a new meeting
place were discussed, club approved a $50 donation to the church. Members can make
a small donation, and the association will make up the difference. $15 was donated by
an unknown source. Charles Hay will get the key, and get the donation to the church.
iii. Facebook page—pros and cons of having a FB page were brought up. Club
approved to keep the page.
iv. Busincess Cards—our old business cards have Carrie’s information and old
location meeting address. Club approved spending $24 on a new set of cards. Fern will
design the cards. Shalome’s number will be put on the cards.
v. Earth Day—Club had a conversation on having an Earth Day booths. One for
informational purposes and one for selling club bee products. After a discussion, it was
decided to keep the club out of the sales part of Earth Day. If a member wants a booth,
they may get one for $10. The club approved a $10 booth fee. Fern will be in charge of
this booth and educational resources. Tom is willing to help. Buddy had some
informational brochures to give as a resource.
vi. Field Day—per our bylaws we must have a field day. After much discussion, the
club would like to have a field day. Shalome was put in charge of that committee. No
volunteers were made at the time. Grady Stanly offered at the end of the meeting to
help. If we can get a location for the field day, it will be held April 27th. This was decided
because it will be after Earth Day and maybe we will get some additional attendees from
this event.
vii. Dues—are due next month. $15.00. There was a discussion of increasing dues to
$20, but if you were registered with the state, you get to keep your dues at $15. Club
did not approve this, they did not want to feel like they were an enforcement agency.
viii. Upcoming Beekeeping Events—
1. Chipley—Beekeeping in the Panhandle. March 29 and 30, UF Extension Office,
1424 Jackson Avenue, Chipley, FL, 32428 $30 for 1 day, $50 for both. Register on
Eventbrite or mail in registration with a check.

2. Wiregrass Beekeepers—Beginning Beekeeping Course. Feb. 26,Mar 5,12,19,
Field Day on March 30 Houston County Extension Office, Alabama $35 register

3. North Escambia County Bee Association—Bee Workshop on Feb. 23, 2019.
Beginner Course $26 7 am – 4 pm and Advanced Course $26 7am-4 pm. Molino

c. What’s blooming—maple which is blooming early and another freeze may cause issues stunt
further blooms.

d. Bee Power—Free Bee Power was given to members who wanted it. The provider would like an
email regarding how well it worked.
