Meeting Minutes
Meeting was called to order at 1900.
Members present:

Secretary Report: June 2022 Minutes were sent out to general membership for review. No corrections.
Minutes approved as written.
Treasurer Report: There is $1509.91 in the TBA account. Nothing pending.
Old Business:
1. Extractor: Larry Cantu borrowed the extractor. He took it off the pallet because the pallet was disintegrated. He said as long as it was well balanced and started off slow, it didn’t “walk”. He was able to turn it all the way up to 100 without any problems. The extractor will fit into the back of a car/SUV and be much easier to borrow in the future. Reminder that we also have 2 OAV guns for loan. (closed)

September: Preparing for winter (goldenrod pops around the 11th, bee ready)

New Business:
1. There is a person needing a removal from a tree with no money to pay. This was presented to the membership if somebody wanted to try using a new bee vacuum after tonight’s presentation. Aaron Wellons wanted the person’s info and said he would go get the bees. Info given to him after the meeting. (info)
2. Swap Meet: July 29th from 8am-2pm. Location: 22821 Lamont Rd 32438 (James Morris’ place). Bring anything bee related you wish to sell. Or come up to buy. Rain date is the following Saturday. (info)
3. Sunbelt Ag Expo UF/IFAS at Moultrie GA Oct 17-19. Featuring Pollinators. Amy Vu will be presenting on the “front porch”. They normally have over 60K people attend. Lots of vendors. South area resources for beekeepers. $5-7 to get in. (info)
4. Florida Beekeeping Calendar (info)
5. It was voted by the board to delete the PO Box and change the address for mailing to Tim Brehm’s
address. (info)
Presentation: Building a bee vacuum. Skipper played a video from YouTube “How to build a bee for under $50”. This video is posted on the TBA Facebook page. Stephen Revell and Tim Brehm each showed their DIY bee vacuums and discussed how they use them. Answered many questions. Very informative.
