Meeting Minutes
Meeting was called to order at 1900.
Members present:

Secretary Report: Jan 2022 Minutes were sent out to general membership for review. Minutes approved as written.
Treasurer Report: There is $1381.90 in the TBA account as of this meeting. IFAS meeting place and PO box paid for the 2023 year. Nothing pending
Old Business:
1. Millville Community Garden: no report. (open)
2. Extractor: Nothing new, just letting it ride through spring. (open)
3. Earth Day/Field Day: Earth Day is 22 April. CM Kidd Community Park will be holding a Park/Bee Day on 13 May from 1-5pm. They will have a composting class, tours of the park, bee activities by TBA (observation hive, raffle for hive, extraction demonstration, honey sales/tasting, possible open hive demonstration/smoker contest). Event flier will go out in the monthly utility bills. (open)
New Business:
1. Calendar for monthly presentations; Discussion about having a calendar for presentations rather than trying to do presentations last minute. James said he plans to teach “swarm traps: how to build/how to bait” for March. Solicited the membership for areas of interest. Response: location of bears in bay county, Queen Management, Mite testing & treatment, Building equipment (box, frames, waxing foundations), Wax rendering, Opportunities for beekeeper’s conferences. Making swarm traps. (open)
Presentation: How to do a hive inspection, swarm prevention and making splits. Stephen Revell presented how he does each of these things using equipment in the front of the classroom. He explained what he was doing and why. Buddy Rich and James Morris each also presented how they do these things as people can do things different ways. Lots of discussion with questions & answers.
