Meeting Minutes
Meeting was called to order at 1900.
Members present:
Skipper Turk (President), Mark Wolf (VP), Betsy Straley (MAL), Tim Brehm (Treasurer), Chris Liddle (Secretary), Chris Mumpower, Roger Straley, Ron Greiner, Charles Hay, Jennifer Bowman, James Morris, Aaron Wellons, Kathleen O’Brien

Secretary Report: Oct 2022 Minutes were sent out to general membership for review. Minutes approved as written.

Treasurer Report: There was $1697.67 in the TBA account as of this meeting. Nothing pending.
Old Business:
1. Millville Community Garden: 1 box died secondary to wax moths. The other box is doing well. Sam Mello posted about certain equipment needs. Josh Ray from Chipola to be bringing equipment and new bees to replace the hive loss next week. (open)
2. Extractor: Nothing new, just letting it ride through spring. (open)
3. Elections: Secretary received NO nominations since the last meeting for any office. Nobody present at this meeting is interested in any office. Only 1 person is nominated and has accepted the position for each office. Moved, seconded and voted to accept these officers for the 2023 year. President: Skipper Turk, Vice President: James Morris, MAL: Betsy Straley, Treasurer: Tim Brehm, Secretary: Christine Liddle. (closed)
4. Christmas party: Discussion regarding Christmas party options. Voted: December Meeting: TBA will pay for pizza. Members to bring desserts to share. Family members are welcome. James Morris will contact Millie Bees and Hosford Bee House about purchasing $100 in door prizes and asking each to price match. They will also be invited to the Christmas Party to promote their businesses. We will have a Dirty Santa. $20 max for each gift for anyone wishing to participate. Reminder: there is no open ETOH allowed at the IFAS building. (open)
5. Skipper printed out new beekeeper information packets that were handed out to new members at tonight’s meeting. Treasurer has further copies and more can be printed as needed. (closed)

New Business:
1. 2 Facebook pages: There is a Facebook page and a Facebook private group. One can only be posted in by the admin, the other can be posted in by members. Secretary will discuss with Fern if these pages can be merged or one deleted. Tell membership to be sure to join both pages. (open)
2. OA/Glycerin sponges Workshop: Workshop for January meeting on OA/glycerin sponges to be done by James Morris. Discussion of cost, $20 each person wishing to leave with sponges should cover costs. (open)
3. Secretary contacted by the Council On Aging regarding an elderly woman who has bees in her subfloor. She is unable to pay for removal. Discussed with Council On Aging and we asked if anyone would be willing to ago assess the situation. Council on Aging may be able to pay for removal but it will take authorization. Would anyone be willing to do the removal and use it as a teaching opportunity?

Mark Wolf volunteered to go assess the situation. 2 members would like to go with him. Mark will report back to the secretary to go from there. (open)

Presentation: November Florida Beekeeping Calendar. What you should be doing to prepare your bees for winter. IFAS honeybee research/bee lab. American Bee Conference to be held Jan 3-7 2023 in Jacksonville if anyone interested in attending. State of Florida bee/apiary to do list. Further discussion and looking at photos of oxalic acid & glycerin on sponges. James Morris will be doing a workshop on this in January.
